It consists of a green shirt with an embroidered logo with navy blue shorts for boys and a navy blue skirt for girls. Shoes and bags should be purchased privately; shoes must be blue or black in color .All uniform items are available for purchase from our BCIS shop. The uniform shop is typically open during the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In the unlikely event of an emergency, a hospital is located within a 3 minute walking distance from the school. The school keeps a health record of all students as well as provides information to improve student wellness.

Food Education

At Brighter Choice International School, food education is a key part of the student’s learning journey. Health in our school extends beyond the curriculum and the classroom to the entire school setting.

Our nutritious menus were reviewed by Dr. Jenny, our nutritionist, to make sure they complement our program of physical activities to ensure good health and well-being for every child.

Student Support and Counselling

BCIS offers student support and counseling services for students in Kindergarten through grade 7. Our Lower and Upper School Student Support Department (SSD) teams assist students with academic support during the school day depending on their need and the specialist evaluation.

Our SSD teams provide general counseling for a wide variety of emotional, personal, social and transition issues. This support is carried out through consultation and collaboration with the parents.

Rest Time

The Creative Curriculum explains, “In full-day programs, rest time is very important for children. The length of rest time varies for children who attend school six hours or more, rest time provides rejuvenation for the afternoon program. Younger children may need more rest time than older preschoolers.”

At BCIS, we support this by providing quiet time every day for Play Group, KG1 and KG2 students for 5 minutes after the end of each lesson.

Bus Information

We offer bus services across most areas of Khartoum and routes are re-developed each year to best cater for the majority of students. Each bus is air-conditioned and made comfortable for each student, it also contains a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.

All buses are insured with adult monitors on board, in addition to certified, handpicked medically checked drivers. BCIS provides the adult monitors with first aid training. The school makes sure to run a background check on all bus drivers.

More information on routes and charges can be obtained. Parents can be in touch with bus monitors at all times during the ride.
