Teach – Encourage – Inspire

THE CURRICULUM

Academics at our school include a variety of instructional programs and approaches. We work with students to strengthen their skills.

Collins is home to bilingual dictionaries and language learning products that are loved and highly applied by our BCIS students and teachers. Collins provides a full range of textbooks, digital resources, revision guides and teaching support.

Each day follows a lesson plan using books, activities, songs and teacher-guided curriculum encouraging the students to learn as they interact and play with the lesson-related resources.

SUCCESS STARTS WITH THE STUDENTS

The primary goals for our primary students are to improve self-esteem, increase independence, self-reliance and strengthen basic academic skills. We foster and challenge students to maintain their curiosity and creativity while extending their self-confidence and self-advocacy.

We place a high priority on creating a learning environment that supports students’ growth in the academic, social and emotional realms. Making friends and building trust are encouraged in the classrooms and in all student activities.

KEEPING UP WITH THE WORLD

As citizens of an increasingly interconnected and changing world, we have a responsibility to understand and learn new dynamics and prepare our children to live and build a future in a society molded by global factors—the rapid flow of information and products across national borders.

BCIS is proud to announce a new optional International Languages Program, which includes French, Spanish, Italian & Chinese (Mandarin). Our students will work towards fluency in as many languages as possible as the years go by.

In their primary level, our students will be introduced to international languages as a part of our curriculum to improve their analytical skills.
